Hollywood Station Post Office Passport Agency Los Angeles Ca

This week we are featuring the Hollywood Station Post Office in Los Angeles, California. The Hollywood Station Post Office is a local Passport Acceptance Agency. They are allowed to verify your documents and put them into the sealed adjudicated envelope. The Hollywood Station Post Office is considered a National Historic Building and has a neat little history. In the late 1930s, famous Art Deco architect Claud Beelman was commissioned by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) to design the Hollywood Post Office Building. There is also a wood carving by the artist Gordon Newell titled “The Horseman”. Will H. Hayes was the one who broke ground for the now famous building. He did so with a steam shovel. Hayes was famous for ‘cleaning up the pictures’ as an early member of Hollywood’s Motion Picture organizations. The post office is one of the few governmental and historical structures left unscathed in Hollywood.
