How to Travel the World for Free: Part 3

Wwoof Around the World!

In keeping with our theme of How to Travel the World for Free, we present another option for free food and accommodation: WWOOFing!

Wwoofing is another way to give back while traveling the world. Wwoof started off as Willing Workers on Organic Farms but now goes by Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms. It’s very similar to HelpX in that it connects hosts with workers, or perhaps more appropriately: travelers.

Why WWOOF?

Workers volunteer usually 5-6 hours per day working on an organic farm, where they share what they know and learn new skills too. It’s usually a multinational effort, with wwoofers coming from all over the world. Since wwoof is available in over 100 countries, there’s no reason not to see the world!

The wwoofing experience can last for a few days to a few years. Some wwoofers even make it a lifestyle, floating from country to country, literally spending no money but traveling the world and meeting people, sharing life with travelers and locals everywhere.

Remember, even if you are only going overseas for a few days, you’ll need to have a valid U.S. Passport. A new passport can take up to 6 weeks, so if you need a passport quicker, contact a trusted expediter like Fastport Passport. Fastport Passport is company that has been expediting passports and visas for over ten years. They can get you a passport in as little as 24 hours. So, grab your passport and hit the road! Get your hands dirty and learn something about organic farming!
