Who needs a DS-11 New Passport Application?
The DS-11 New Passport Application is for ALL applicants that are applying for a first time passport. This application is also for applicants that are applying for a lost/stolen/damaged replacement passport. Applicants that are 15 and younger are going to get the child (minor) passport and it is valid for 5 years. The child passport cannot be renewed. It is considered a new child passport each time until the applicant is 16 or older. Once the applicant is 16 or older, they will need to follow the instructions for the new adult passport.
Applicants that are 16 and older will get the adult passport and that is valid for 10 years. The DS-11 New Passport Application usually takes 4-6 weeks for processing. What are the fees for the DS-11 New Passport Application?
The fees for a passport are based on many factors. New Adult Passports will cost $110 for the passport book and $25 to the acceptance agent.
